About
Community Action Partnership of North Alabama (The Partnership) is a leading non-profit partner organization in North Alabama that is committed to reducing or eliminating the causes and consequences of poverty. This is achieved through various programs created by The Partnership, as well as through strategic partners with other non-profit organizations.
Energy Assistance
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program provides assistance on a one-time basis to low income families to meet heating and cooling energy costs and to prevent energy from being terminated in health crisis situations. Funds are paid directly to utility companies and vendors.
Head Start
Community Action Partnership of North Alabama operates quality early care and learning centers for young children and their families in over 150 classrooms within a 15 county area. Our program offers an array of educational, nutritional, health, and socialization opportunities to low-income, homeless and military families, as well as children with disabilities at no cost to families. All of our learning centers are licensed by the state and our teachers hold degrees in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
The Head Start Pre-school classrooms promote school readiness by offering a socially stimulating learning environment that encourages children, ages 3 to 5, to engage in hands-on experiences and explore the world around them.
We welcome infants and toddlers up to age 3, in our Early Head Start program and we offer services to pregnant women through resource and referral, education, pre-natal care and maternal health. Young children experience quality services in a warm and caring center-based environment that values each child individually. In 3 of our counties (Madison, Limestone, and Lauderdale), we offer Early Head Start Home-Based services in the familys home. Home visitors come once a week and work with families and their children. They help the child learn using the families' interactions, daily routines, and household materials. Twice a month a small group of children, families, and their home visitors get together in groups for socializations.
